Red Island - Hand printed Tree shops Ring Art Red Print

An original artwork of a section of tree trunk of a Macrocarpa type of Cedar. The source wood came from a wood yard in North Devon from a local tree planted in Victorian times

Available signed and numbered out of a limited artists edition of 40 in Red. Each version is slightly different as the amount of ink, pressure and paper orientation varies a little with each copy as they are indivilually hand crafted.

Note it is available on standard paper (slightly off white, Japanese) or a much warmer cream coloured paper which shops works so well with warm ink colours (that paper is a premium watermarked product and costs an additional £8, selectable at checkout.)

The overall image looks like a map of an island with apparent contours, rivers, hills and coastline but is of course an exact replication of the tree rings and grain of this piece of Macrocarpa at its a particular point where it was cut - in this case at the base of the trunk.

Handprinted using sustainable inks and archival paper. The actual image size is 70cm x 50cm and it is printed onto paper 90cm x 70cm. Supplied as either a bare print rolled up in a protective tube or in a black ora awhite frame as shown (using plexiglass in place of picture glass for safety, a white frame also available). This woodblock can also be printed in many other colours - see other listings in Blue and Black or ask me about custom matching to a colour of your choice.

As my work is hand printed to order it may take around a week to reach you after ordering.
