Zsolnay Dog - Eosin Irish Setter - shops Iridescent Ceramic - Pecs Hungary

Classic iridescent Zsolnay ceramic! I love these statues for their striking, mysterious glow! The Zsolnay factory is located in Pecs, Hungary and dates back to 1853! The unique Eosin luster glaze is their trademark. Later pieces seem to have more of a "shine" to them, but personally, I prefer the softer finish of the earlier pieces in traditional, representational forms. This Irish setter isn't rare, but this is a very good example of Zsolnay's smaller pieces, likely made in the late 1950's and remains shops in mint condition!
