This gorgeous yet functional backpack features beautiful handwoven shops multicoloured gheri cotton large main pocket and a lovely natural hemp smaller front pocket. It is complete with stylish pleather circular "shou" or peach pit applique detailing. The straps are fully adjustable, and there are small elasticated side pockets perfect for water and other quick access essentials.
The multicoloured patterned gheri cotton fabric that makes up this bag is handwoven in a traditional stripe and diamond pattern with highlights in a multitude of gorgeous colours including popping blue, burgundy and orange.
The bag features long adjustable reinforced padded straps, piped in black cotton and fully lined, with brass d-rings and complementary khaki polypropylene webbing for the strength needed to carry all your heavy textbooks! There is also a webbing loop at the top so you can easily hang you bag up at school, college, work or home. The main pocket is secured with a double way zip and lined in light cotton. There is also a separate reinforced pocket inside the main compartment, with Velcro strap to secure your laptop or tablet safely to the back of the bag. The reinforced rectangular base of the bag gives stability and shape, ensuring plenty of room inside!
There is a smaller zipped pocket on the front of the bag in beautiful natural unbleached hemp, perfectly complementing the main multicoloured cotton. The pleather circular shou or peach pit sign decoration is a lovely touch that really brings this bag alive. The ancient "shou" symbol represents longevity. On the sides of the bag are elasticated open pockets, perfect for things that you need to get at quickly, like water or your umbrella!
This lovely bag is perfect for school, college, work, to take to festivals or any occasion where you need a bag that can carry lots of heavy stuff but still looks great! Easily fits A4 folders and should fit most laptops.
Measurements (all approximate) are as follows:
- Main compartment height 42cm x width 29cm x depth 13cm
- Front hemp pocket height 30cm x width 23cm x depth 5cm
- Side pockets height 16cm x width at top with elastic fully extended 20cm
The hemp and cotton used to make this bag is hand grown, dyed and woven in Nepal using traditional methods. As such the natural dyes may run, so it is advised to clean gently by hand with a damp cloth. If you need to wash this bag do so by hand in cold water, but bear in mind that the colours are likely to run. Any quirks in the pattern, colour consistency and weave are not to be seen as flaws, but as unique features that add to the character and charm of the bag.
No animal derived products are used in the manufacture, dye or assembly of this product and none are present in the final item. Suitable for Vegans :)
