Egyptian Revival Bracelet Stamped Brass Metals Hamsa Hand Dangle

ITEM: A very cool piece of costume jewelry with an Egyptian Revival style of design featuring stamped brass metals details in deep relief, giving a whole lot of dimensional and visual pop. Essentially a panel bracelet, the designs are Pharos Masks and Elephants and the stones are blue art glass cabs that seem likely to be of Czech origins. They have an oriental look about them and are a sky blue verging on turquoise tone. Dangling from the chain that serves as an adjustable clasp set up, hangs a beautiful Hamsa Hand charm. This detail elevates this bracelet into less than common territory for me as it's not often I find any quite like this one! It's a really cool piece of vintage jewelry for sure! The other end has a simple hook through which to attach the chain, allowing some play to the fit. The brass stampings are highly detailed and dimensional and the whole piece is a textural bit of eye candy. A wonderfully crafted piece of costume jewelry with high quality make, materials and finish. They shops just don't make ‘em like this anymore. Eye catching, rather unique looking and just really cool. The story of the Hamsa hand is well recorded and reaches back into antiquity. From Mesopotamia if I'm not mistaken. A ward against the evil eye, it's thought to be a charm to keep negative energies at bay. There's more to the story than that and a quick google can tell the rest of that story if interested. An unsigned beauty of high style and flair.

SIZE: This Gorgeous bracelet is just shy of 1” wide and is 6 1/2” to 7 1/2” long, given the fact that the chain allows for some adjustments.

CONDITION: In good vintage condition showing age appropriate wear overall. The brass metals show age related patina, a natural process of oxidation over time. Small areas of what may be the start of verdigris but hasn't yet bloomed. This is typical of this type of material and age and can be managed with proper cleaning and storage. Ask for details if needed. The very dimensional details like the masks and elephants show no crushed areas. There are no breaks noted. The art glass cabs are full, well set and in good surface. Set into saw edge bezels, I see no chips, cracks or crazing and no signs of replacement or repair. The bracelet may date anywhere from 1930 to 1950 and my guess would be smack dab in the middle!
