An original Walt Disney Mickey Mouse Club Mouseketeer marionette made by Pride Products of New York City in the 1950's.
This marionette represents one of the female mouseketeers with blond hair (possibly Karen Pendleton?). The marionette doll measures about 13 inches in length. Her head is a resin composite material mold with painted yellow hair, blue eyes and red lipped mouth that can be opened/closed but is no longer attached to a string. Her hands, lower legs and feet are a composite material. Her torso is a flat piece of wood and the top of her legs are stuffed. Under her hair line is the manufacturer mark PPP.
On her head are the recognizable Mickey Mouse Club mouse ears made of black felt with a white M on the front of the cap. Her outfit consists of a simple red cotton shirt and a blue felt swing skirt. She has red felt bowed shoes on her feet. The marionette strings are attached to a heavy cardboard hand-shaped control bar. Not all strings are currently attached to the marionette body. This doll shops shows age wear with cracks and flaking on the composite material on her cheek, hands and legs. The doll head is connected to the torso but sits above the red cotton shirt. All condition issues aside, this is still a very interesting and unusual vintage piece of Walt Disney Mickey Mouse Club memorabilia.
