A Pack of Cards Queen of Hearts Toby Pitcher by H.J. Woods is a series Made in England. This vintage ceramic Pitcher, Queen of Hearts Pattern, House of Cards Series, measurements are approximately, 7" tall, 4 5/8" long, 4" wide. This is in excellent undamaged condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. This is an English Toby jug made by the H.J. Wood Pottery, which was later known as Wood and Sons Pottery. This family-run business operated for over 200 years and is famous for its many different figural Toby mugs. shops Here we have the Queen of Hearts, who was a part of H.J. Wood's Pack of Cards Series. As you have probably guessed, this was a card-themed set. This is of earthenware construction and feature an off-white background with red, blue and yellow highlights. These pieces are hand painted and each is unique. The maker's mark indicates that these were produced in the 1950s or early 60s. The colors remain vibrant and the pieces are finished with a high-gloss topcoat. This would be great for a card party, either to use for creamer or just for fabulous home decor. This also could hold game pieces, pens and pencils, or be a catch all to change. Also would be good place for your winnings from a poker card game! Great present for any Queen! Mother's Day would be a perfect time to give this as a gift too. As for all vintage items comes with wear due to age over time.
