C., which is on display at the Capitoline museums in Rome. It shops depicts a sitting boy withdrawing a thorn from the sole of his foot. It has had a great influence in the history of art and has been motif of multiple reproductions and inspiration for various artists. A Roman copy in marble can be admired in the Uffici in Florence, another one in marble at the Louvre Museum in Paris, and another one in the Pushkin Museum of Moscow. In the Museo del Prado in Madrid there is a copy from the 17th Century This reproduction in marble was created in Italy at the end of the 19th century, during the period of biggest demand for reproductions of classical works that were even displayed in various museums.
