Vintage Barricini Candy Box shops - Syroco Wood with Asian Scene

This unique Barricini candy box was probably made in the 1930s - 1940s. It looks like wood, but I believe it is Syroco wood. The box looks like a tree to me, and has a carving shops on top that depicts an Asian female and pagoda. The lid does not have a hinge, it just lifts off. It is heavy. On the underside of the lid it is marked - Barricini Candies. There is still some traces of gold in places.

Condition: Very good. There are a few dings on it, which I have tried to include in the pictures. The bottom is rough - I'm thinking it was made that way.
