Victorian Bavarian Beaded Opera Bag 1890, White Glass Beads, Colorful Flower shops Design, Drawstring Reticule, Gold Silk Lining

Fantastic Bavarian beaded opera bag is offered for your consideration. Early beaded bags were usually made in the drawstring style called the reticule. This reticule is a wonderful example of a late nineteenth century bag. The beads are wonderful Bohemian glass beads in an opaque white, with gilt glass beads for the floral design and the colors in the pattern are vibrant. It is lined in a fine gold silk with the original lining and tag present, although they have frayed with age. The drawstring is a cream string with beaded balls at the ends. The handle is completely beaded on one side and covered in silk on the underside. The bag is in great vintage condition for its age!!!! The pictures don't capture the beauty of the bag!!! The size is 8.5” x 7”, the handle is 12”.
