Shops Vintage 9ct Gold Shell Cameo Brooch

This is a pretty vintage 9ct gold mounted carved shell cameo depicting a classical beauty. The cameo is a decent size, and she has a remarkably pretty and finely carved face compared to the majority of vintage cameos I've seen, which in all honesty tend to be very ugly. I mainly love the extravagant detail to her hairstyle which the engraver has paid extra attention to.

The cameo is in a substantial 9ct gold mount with a ropetwist border, and it is hallmarked to the top with full English hallmarks as well shops as a makers name for Joy & Co.

The brooch is in excellent condition for its age, with no damage of note that I can see
