An early edition. Believed to date from 1929 (as denoted by the digits '829' on the title page - September 1929?)

Dimensions: approx. 11 1/2" x 7 3/4" or approx. 29.5 cm x 20 cm

Large format softback book - comprises 20 colour plates, a 15-page section of introductory text, plus tracings/patterns for 9 of the designs.
Features some stunning designs, which incorporate a variety of stitches (including cross stitch, stroke stitch, straight stitch and slanting Slav stitch). In the case of the cross stitch designs, the intention was to work directly from the colour plates (no charts)

Please note that this is the FRENCH-language edition (with an introduction in French). However, the illustrations are largely self-explanatory so it will be possible to use this book without a knowledge of French.

In good condition overall. Some light wear and tear, including slight grubbiness, to cover. Ink annotation to front cover plus a few other small marks/stains. Small tear and two small stains to top inner corner of back cover. Moderate creasing. General age shops discolouration/tanning. But otherwise very good. Binding is tight. Internal pages are clean with no major flaws - no stains, tears or annotations. Please see photos for more information. Please note that it has proved difficult to reproduce the colours totally accurately in the photos.
