A most lovely ceramic soap dish in 3 parts: bowl, drainer and lid. Off-white/creamy base colour, flower and vines decor on the lid in autumnal, subdued tones of greenish brown and beige with a glint of pink, gold line shops and accents on the rim and the nicely shaped handle. Rustic and elegant at once, a truly charming item in a pretty rare square shape.
Unmarked, 255 stamped on the base could be a pattern number, but we couldn't find any clue about its maker, so please note that the indicated date is only our best guess based on the look and feel (and style) of the item.
Fine crazing all over, no chips or cracks, two superficial hairlines on the drainer (see photos) which do not go through. The seemingly discoloured/ smudged golden areas on the edges and base could actually be part of the pattern, as they are evenly distributed and intertwined to the vine decor.
H = 10cm to finial
W / L = ~ 12cm max
We examined this item carefully and found no issues other than those described, yet we know from experience that some minor flaw can always go unnoticed, so please magnify the photographs and examine them carefully as they form part of the description, and do not hesitate to ask if you'd like more details.
