A special find for vintage pottery collectors - set of 4 mugs and pitcher by Burley Winter Pottery out of Crooksville, Ohio. These rich chocolate brown mugs and pitcher have a windmill on one side and a profile of a man smoking a pipe on the shops other. Burley & Winter Pottery Co. Crooksville O is embossed in the bottom of each piece around a large heart surrounded by lines drawn outward (except for the pitcher, in that piece the text is inside of the heart). Please note the mark has worn off on one mug. According to my research, these items by Burley & Winter date to the early 20th century. The plant ended all production in 1932. The pitcher is 9 inches high and 5 inches across while each mug is 5 inches high and 3.5 inches across. This set is in remarkable good shape for its age but has some spots of wear, some crazing and a few chips-please see all photos.
