Fabulous Antique Velvet Odd Fellows Collar with Silver shops Metal Triple Links and Chain - Made by Henderson-Ames
The Henderson-Ames Company of Kalamazoo, MI. was started right after the Civil War and continued thru the 1930s. The company specialized in making uniforms, regalia, and vestments for fraternal orders and won shops a special prize during the 1893 Chicago Exhibition. This fabulous collar was made for an Odd Fellows Lodge since it has their Triple Links metal insignia (symbolizing Friendship, Love and Truth) sewn onto each side of the sash. The piece itself is made of red and cream velvet, trimmed with golden braid. The collar has its original Henderson-Ames label and is in very good, age-related condition -- the cloth is clean and has no tears or holes. There's a 3 chain link sewn onto the collar to hold it in place.
The collar is approx. 19" long.
