Semi-Antique Chinese porcelain dragon and phoenix plate / charger, hand painted in enamels and heavy gold gilt, deep saturated almost 3-D colors, the 4 toe dragon and phoenix flying through the clouds, both appear to be pursuing the flaming pearl, the mark on the back was used ca. 1970, in the height of the Mao Zedong Cultural Revolution, it reads Zhongguo Chao Cai, roughly translated: hand enameled in Swatow China, there is a lot of gold on this charger, as it turns and catches the light, the gold is very reflective, when held just right, the gold reflects like a blazing ring of fire in the center of the charger, the wind figurers look like flames, an offering to our ancestors, the plate is in good Semi-Antique condition, with no cracks, chips, or loss of enamel, the approximate size is 13 inches across
