Blackamoor Nubian large head vase
This incredible vintage head vase is enormous, sitting 10.5" high, and 7" across the gold bowl on the head.
There are no signatures or marks or logos on it but whomever made it got it right with proud features, dangling earrings and a golden bowl atop the head that has a wonderful turquoise blue inner bowl glaze, a friend suggested that it might be an unmarked piece of Stanford Pottery
This was made in two separate pieces (one is all high gloss black glaze over a flat white ceramic base, the shops other is a turquoise blue glaze with high gloss gold exterior for the bowl of the vase...(I would venture to say that it could be porcelain, but I'm not sure), and the two are solidly and seamlessly attached.
This is a beautiful blackamoor face with fat double corn rows from the forehead to the back of the head. There are holes in the ears which look FABULOUS with huge gold hoops in them
