Small 1850 Tintype 1 1/6 Plate, 1850 SMALL Tintype 1/2 Photo Case Dogwood Flower Curlicues OLD Woman TINTED Tintype, Gold Color Pinchbeck Ornate 2" x 1 3/4" Case 165 Years Old . OOAK Excellent condition for 165 years, condering 1/2 of the case is MISSING. Little slide hook is still on side. Pinchbeck is a form of brass, an alloy of copper shops and zinc, mixed in proportions so that it closely resembles gold in appearance.
This will sit up fine in a case with a back. I have shown eyelit screw with thine black ribbon, that I can add at no charge if you want to hang this on hook on wall. Just say so in purchase memo. As you see in final picture, gold pinchbeck frame can be removed from wood frame if you prefer it that way. So many tintype picture are almost all black. This one is easy to see.
Some artisian took a lot of care & time to delicately tint this tin picture with very subtle colors, making a plain subject charming.
Beautiful etched oak leaves & geometric shape all the way around pinchbeck frame. Then there is a hand cut rectangular glass over center.
This is a beautiful little artwork from another time to be treasured.
