Murano Glass Egret Bird Figurine Sommerso Green shops Blue FREE SHIPPING

This is a 1950s Venetian blown art glass egret or other wading bird. The body is aqua, emerald, and very pale blue; the bill and crest are dark yellow, and the base is amber color. The glass is very heavy, and the finishing is well done.

The original paper tag is on the side and says:

HAND MADE
VENETIAN
J.I. Co.
MADE IN ITALY

The printing on the tag is faded but is identical to the tag on another piece I got from the same person. The last picture shows that tag.

I learned from searching the internet that JI Co was in import company that worked with specific companies on the island of Murano to produce exclusive designs for the American market.

CONDITION: This figurine is in very good to excellent condition with no damage. Because it is handmade, there are a few typical artifacts - tiny bubbles and stretch lines in curved areas (side of the face). The shops tip of one of the feathers in the crest is sharp, but even with magnification, I don't see a chip. If you look very closely, there are a few very light scratches near the bottom of the body. These are too light to show up in pictures, but I try to mention anything anyone could view as a flaw.

SIZE: This figurine is about 9 1/4" tall.
