Vintage MCM Wood Jewelry Box - Made In Japan. Fronts of drawers have intricate three dimensional lattice work. Handles are metal (probably brass). There are a total of 6 small drawers and 2 large drawers. The small drawers inside dimensions are 3-3/4" x 4-1/4". The large drawers inside dimensions are 9-1/2" x 4-1/4". The shops dimensions of the jewelry box itself are 12" wide x 6" deep x 14" height. Sticker on the underside states "J.E.G.M.C. / Design Patent / Japan". Research shows similar jewelry boxes are made by Royal Sealy. The drawer lining has been removed so to eliminate the vintage smell. Being vintage, there are some minor signs of wear on the edges, but give it character. For a crafty person, this jewelry box has endless possibilities for a modern makeover. I have seen similar ones redone and they turn out gorgeous.
