Mauthe History .
Mauthe, founded by Friedrich Mauthe in 1844 in Schwenningen in the Black Forest. Around 1870, work was started on in-house work. Around 1900 shops, 1,100 people worked on wall clocks, alarm clocks, watches, etc. Since 1946 the company also made wrist watches. These became known because Volkswagen every driver who had driven more than 100,000 km with a Volkswagen a Mauthe wristwatch gift. When in the seventies the quartz watches made their appearance, it went downhill with Mauthe and in 1975 the company was dissolved.
