This is a set of Kiyomizu ware Jihei's glazed Mishima sake cups.
The glaze that flows and changes in the kiln gives this sake cup a deep flavor.
The green and brown colors in the inka pattern are accents.
The set consists of one tokkuri, which holds about one cup, and two gugunomi.
The Mishima pattern on the surface of the sake cup and tokkuri is rhythmically stamped on the top and bottom.
The Mishima pattern is a pattern found in folk kilns on the Korean Peninsula.
It was introduced to Japan in the Muromachi period (1336-1573) along with the rise of the tea ceremony and well bowls.
The elegance of this piece is reminiscent of sansai, which was introduced to Japan through the Silk Road.
Oribe and iron were poured on the matted Kizeto fabric.
The shape of a thin sake cup with a wide mouth.
The delicate Mishima pattern and the Sansai-like flowing scenery make this sake cup shine with the taste of its creator.
