Product code: Victorian, Embroidered Silk and Lace Dresser Scarf Doily "The Maple shops Leaf Forever"

Victorian Era, "The Maple Leaf Forever" by Alexander Muir, 1867 was Canada's unofficial anthem and well loved for many years. His song has been commemorated in this wonderful dresser scarf, table doily.

The dresser scarf is gorgeous, vibrant red silk accented with handmade lace. A beautiful, hand stitched, Filet Lace maple leaf is central focus with colorful, white, beige and gold patterns needle-woven into the filet net. Central to the filet lace is a white silk area intricately embroidered with historical Allied symbols of Canada, The British Red Ensign, French Flag, Russian flag, and in the center the crown and laural wreath. Over this is embroidered, "The Maple Leaf Forever"

This beautifully embroidered silk and lace dresser scarf, table doily is in Amazing condition for age. It does have a little bit of red transferred on the lace, which has bled from the silk. This does not detract from the beauty of this piece.

Chorus:
The Maple Leaf, our emblem dear,
The Maple Leaf forever!
God save our Queen shops and Heaven bless
The Maple Leaf forever!
