Rare Set of 4 shops Discontinued Never-Used Vintage Fitz and Floyd Pigs at a Barbecue Plates and Mugs + 1 Set of Dancing Geese
Pat Fitzpatrick and Robert Floyd founded Fitz and Floyd in Dallas, Texas, in 1960. Their combination of whimsy and craft has made them an international success ever since. Notable is the range of shops their appeal--from dorm rooms and first apartments to board rooms and the White House.
The two discontinued sets from 1979 offered here are about as close to outrageous as Fits and Floyd get. The four "Pigs at a Barbecue" plates and mugs are startling for their imbecilic cheerfulness. It doesn't matter that what they're eating is either a gourd or a salt shaker, they're happy. As for the single set of geese doing the can-can, what more is there to say?
All five sets (7" plates, 3.5"-tall mugs) are in like-new condition and show no signs of having ever been used: not so much as a utility mark.
