French antique watercolour mounted on card, landscape painting of path going through woods, signed and dated 1916.

This is a delightful, signed and dated watercolour of a forest scene in autumnal foliage. The winding path leads to a lake or river in the woods. The painting is signed by Eng - Hachard, and dated 1916, the middle of WW1. The frame is no longer with the painting, this is how I purchased it at auction in an artist's portfolio of work. The watercolour painting has been done on watercolour paper and stuck to dense card back, which would then have gone in its original frame.

This painting would look absolutely stunning framed. This gives the buyer a chance to frame the painting shops to their specifications. The painting, I feel, is worth a frame that is made to measure, but there is such a wide choice of ready made frames now to suit everyone's budget.

Condition:
The painting is in very good antique condition. There is a little light foxing, and the card it sits on is slightly warped, and a little wear from being originally fitted into the frame.
