Rare and unusual, Large figural canister of fisherman holding baskets. Vintage Austrian ceramic, lodge/cabin decor, lake home. shops Head vase.

1930's Austria glazed ceramic fisherman. Two piece figurine of a young man with red hair wearing a green hat. His shirt is open to his waist and he wears one green suspender. Over his back is a large straw colored basket ( 3" x 3") and in his arm is a dark green basket (3.5" x 2"). The top half of his body is removable and reveals an open space (4" x 3.5") for storage of small trinkets or whatever.
I am not sure what this piece is. Maybe it was a serving piece, like the green basket filled with sprigs of parsley or shops cilantro and the straw basket filled with fish spread or some sort of dip? Maybe it was shelf decor and had cute fish in the basket? Why is it two pieces!? Whatever it is it's very unique and eye catching.
On the bottom is stamped Austria and the number 27. Very good condition. No chips or cracks. Very detailed, right down to the fisherman's teeth.
