shops This is an Early American hand-carved and hand-made folk art curio/jewelry/trinkets cabinet from about 1910. It is made of both pine and oak with bent wood and has original brass pulls. It has an attractive willow basket and copper woven pattern on its face and, top and sides. There is a rough hewn heart which hints it was made for a young girl. There are original square head nails. There appear to be a few original round head nails which suggest that it was made during a transition period in nail types. The drawer is not dove-tailed. There is a spot of white paint on the top as shown. There are scratches as expected for its age. The hinges may have been replaced. This is folk art at its most charming! Dimensions are 17 3/4" x 11". This is a wonderful example of one-of-a-kind Early American folk art - I like to think lovingly made and gifted from father to daughter.
