Top edge stained black and "Chocktaw" rather than "Choctaw" on page 21 CONDITION: Near fine, with no dj. Tight straight copy, free of former owner writing or bookplates. The only flaw is a small rectangular mark on the front cover where an adhesive stamp was removed. Pages tight and clean. The usual fade to shops gilt lettering on spine along with minor shelfwear. (8.25" x 5.75"). A play, with long narrative sections ("The Courthouse" and "The Jail"), which continues the story of Temple Drake, a character introduced two decades earlier in the novel Sanctuary. This was Faulkner's first book after winning the Nobel Prize in 1949.
