Arabia Finland shops ARA, Rare Kurt Ekholm Figurine, Sitting Couple, Man Playing and singing, Woman with Flowers
This rare and special Arabia ARA Finland figurine by Kurt Ekholm looks like mid-summer. It depicts a couple sitting on the ground together enjoying each other's company The young man plays and sings to his girl who sits close, head on his shoulder, flowers in her lap and her skirt spread before her. It radiates the warmth and sweetness of summer love. It is not modeled in the round, in fact, the back is flat. It might have been meant to be a shops bookend(?)
It is about 5 1/2"tall. The base measures 6 3/4" by about 5" at its longest and widest.
It is marked on the bottom with two stamps in the red clay. One states "Arabia , Made in, Finland", the other is an oval which has "ARA" within.
It is in excellent condition.
